The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.


Who you will work with

  • This role is based out of the Marketing and Customer Experience (MCX) team which sits in the BCN Data & Tech cluster. MCX team works on building and deploying analytical solutions pertaining to Bain’s Customer Practice, delivering quality analysis and generating strong business insights in the Marketing and Customer Experience (MCX) domain. The team primarily helps Bain case teams, across geographies and industries, solve critical client issues by applying battle-proven diagnostics/ solutions that can identify client pain points related to marketing, brand, and customer strategy. They also play a significant role in creating, testing, and contributing to the proprietary products and Bain IP within the domain, in close collaboration with Customer Practice leadership
  • MCX Project Leader (Marketing) is the lead on a BCN case and leads a team of 3-4 associates and analysts to develop and deploy marketing solutions on projects end-to-end – from ideation to delivery and presentation, leading discussions with key internal and client stakeholders including Bain Partners, Directors, and Case teams. Usually, a PL is staffed 100% on a project and works under the guidance of the team’s Senior Manager/ Manager, playing a key role in output delivery and client communication
  • This role is critical for driving analysis and generating actionable insights by combining your expertise in analytics with a deep understanding of marketing techniques and principles. You will lead projects primarily focused on brand enhancement, marketing optimization, and ROI maximization across a range of channels for Bain clients and prospects.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead consulting projects:
    • Drive end-to-end delivery of marketing analytics projects for clients, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables are met (along with inputs from Manager/ Senior Manager)
    • Day-to-day work planning and team management. Take responsibility for scoping and delegating work streams; monitor and balance workloads within the team of analysts and associates
    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients/ Bain case teams, providing strategic insights and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Marketing analytics and research (critical)
      • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify opportunities/ gaps and benchmark current marketing maturity of clients as per Bain proprietary frameworks and databases
      • Develop tailored analysis using marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and analytical data sources (such as SEMRush, Similarweb, etc.) to form a comprehensive outside-in view of client marketing/ sales functions
      • Identify value at stake and size of prize through media spend analysis across channels and competitors
      • Develop strategies to build new and strengthen existing digital channels, implementing new or enhanced omni-channel strategies, personalization techniques and connected experiences
      • Analyze large datasets (involving 1P marketing data) to uncover actionable insights that inform marketing strategy, media mix optimization, and campaign performance measurement.
      • Understand basic design principles and apply them for strength and gap identification in UI/UX of client websites and mobile app interface
      • Comprehend the Marketing Technology (Martech) stack and assess current client state vs. peers on the marketing vis a vis martech front  
      • Stay abreast of emerging marketing analytics tools and trends to ensure that the team offers cutting-edge solutions to clients and stakeholders
  • Insight Generation and Presentation
        • Drive conversations through analytics to help uncover insights through data analysis and story-lining the deliverable to prove/disprove hypotheses in the best interest of the client/project
        • Use dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to track KPIs and report on the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
        • Leverage latest techniques (such as GenAI, predictive modelling, etc) to enhance data analysis as well as embed them in day-to-day activities
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
        • Work closely with senior leaders and internal teams (including data scientists, digital marketers, and product development), to ensure integration of data-driven insights across marketing initiatives across a range of industries (esp. Retail, Consumer Products, Financial Services)
        • Brainstorm with the BCN Manager/Sr. Manager and Bain consulting/ specialist team on various aspects of a client project or new IP development
  • Consistently provide responsible feedback, coaching and mentoring to analysts and associates working with them to address their professional development needs. Also conduct performance discussions, writing reviews for appraisal (as required)
  • Contribute to the internal development of our practice through participation in areas such as business development, training, thought leadership and toolkit development, and recruiting.

About you

  • Graduate (6-7 years) / Post-Graduate (4-6 years) (preferably with degree in engineering / science / commerce / business / economics) strong academic records  
  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience across marketing analytics, data analytics, or business consulting, with demonstrated success leading projects in marketing oriented fields 
  • 1+ year experience in leading team/ teams (ideally within consulting setup) 
  • Hands on experience with digital marketing tools (e.g., SEMRush, Similarweb, Sensortower, etc.). and concepts (media spend, SEO/ SEM, traffic/ channel analysis) 
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Page Speed Insights) and working directly with 1P customer data 
  • Experience with marketing measurement frameworks (e.g., marketing mix modeling, multi-touch attribution) and Martech concept
  • Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Experience with any of the following topics is a plus – survey-based tools and analytics, diagnostics, data analytics and benchmarking 
  • Working proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus 
  • Certifications in marketing analytics tools or platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus 
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex information to senior executives and clients in a clear, concise manner 

  • Strong understanding of the broader business context, including marketing trends, customer behaviors, and financial impact.
