Bain & Company names François Faelli Global Head of Capabilities

BOSTON and BRUSSELSJuly 9, 2024— Bain & Company announced today it has appointed François Faelli to be its global head of capabilities. In this role, Francois will oversee Bain’s capabilities, the firm’s functional consulting services which link to its industry practices to bring the best of Bain’s expertise to its clients.

Bain’s capabilities focus on its clients’ most critical issues and opportunities: strategy, marketing, organization, operations, technology, transformation, digital, advanced analytics, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and sustainability across all industries and geographies.

“François has been a formidable force for progress and innovation throughout his 25-year tenure at Bain,” said Christophe De Vusser, Bain & Company’s Worldwide Managing Partner. “I have full confidence that under François’s leadership, we will continue to raise the bar ever higher for our clients. What sets Bain apart is the holistic perspective it offers to its clients through its network of capabilities, capturing value across boundaries and between the silos of any organization to optimize the sum of the parts, not just the individual pieces. François’s extensive leadership experience working across the firm’s capabilities and practices position him to accelerate and grow this unique network of capabilities to keep our clients at the forefront of their industries.”

François most recently served as Bain’s Global Sustainability Practice Leader, overseeing the firm’s bold collective ambition of creating a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive world. During his tenure with the Sustainability practice, Francois led the firm to rapidly mobilize to support clients with their most critical business needs, focused on visionary pragmatism—helping clients to close the gap on their sustainability commitments and their ability to deliver them. He led the practice to embed sustainability into 20% of Bain’s consulting projects globally, across industries. To enable this, he and his team launched Further Academy, the largest program of its kind within the consulting sector, through which all of Bain’s global consultants have access to sustainability training from 12 top universities. This list includes Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Imperial College London, HEC Paris, and Melbourne Business School, among others.

Additionally, Francois and his team have built a world-class ecosystem of partnerships with best-of-breed players in the complex and dynamic sustainability environment, offering Bain’s clients access to state-of-the-art platforms across areas like decarbonization and circularity.

Francois is also the former head of the firm’s global Consumer Products practice. In this role, he spent eight years working with Bain partners across the globe to transform many of the world’s largest consumer companies.

He holds a Master's in business and economics from Solvay Business School, where he is a professor of strategy. He is based in Brussels.
