The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.


Who you will work with

This is an opportunity to be a part of Bain’s CE Benchmarking team within the Data and Insights - Capabilities Centre of Expertise (CoE), based out of the Gurugram office. The role seeks a Sales and Marketing Benchmarking expert to incubate, scale and accelerate Commercial Excellence (CE) data assets in partnership with Bain’s CE Practice. The broader Data and Insights - Capabilities CoE team works with practices to co-develop and deploy diagnostic tools with case teams/ clients to asses functional maturity and identify areas of improvement. Data and Insights - Capabilities CoE consists of 50+ team members, working with multiple practices including Commercial Excellence, Consumer Products, Financial Services, Performance Improvement, Retail, etc. We have witnessed exciting growth year-on-year consistently for the last 12 years.

As an Associate, you will work and collaborate within a team of analysts to handle CE Benchmarking and associated data assets, to co-develop diagnostic tools with the CE Practice and support case teams/ clients with data insights and visualizations. Associates work under the guidance of a Project Lead / Manager, playing a key role in driving the team’s overall work by driving individual workstreams and supporting the team, build domain expertise through tools and datasets expertise, stakeholder communication in written and verbal form, workstream execution, delivery, and time management.

About you

  • Graduate (preferably in statistical/analytics course) with at least 2-4 years of relevant experience or an MBA/Post-Graduate with high academic records having 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in consulting/ research/ analytics, with hands-on experience in Benchmarking analysis. Prior experience/ familiarity with Commercial capabilities including Sales, Marketing, Pricing etc. is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Advance Excel, Alteryx and Tableau tool
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Alteryx and Tableau 
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools & technologies as business needs evolve over time 
  • Exceptional analytical and technical skills, including knowledge of market research tools, data science and business intelligence tools
  • Experience developing audience-right high quality presentations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
  • Comfortable in working as an individual contributor as well as in small team-lets

What you’ll do

  • Provide Sales and Marketing Benchmarking expertise to support Bain case teams
    1. Collaborate closely with case teams to understand case context and provide advice on how to run benchmarking analysis  
    2. Leverage existing database, resources and conduct secondary research to provide insightful data solutions to Bain case teams 
    3. Develop client ready visualization dashboards using advanced tools such as Tableau with minimum guidance
    4. Effectively manage individual workstream and communicate in a clear and crisp manner in team meetings and deliver clear and professional presentations to the team, team leaders and managers/ partners across Bain 
  • Work on existing data assets and support research to identify additional external sources to enhance data coverage
    1. Collect and validate relevant data from various sources and develop understanding of internal/ external sources that can be used 
    2. Drive data collection process in collaboration with Project Lead, Bain case teams and enhance Bain’s proprietary databases
    3. Ensure strict compliance to legal guidelines while collecting data
    4. Develop domain expertise across various CE capabilities including Sales, Marketing, Pricing etc.
  • Own individual/multiple workstreams and support case team ensuring Zero Defects (ZD) in output
    1. Independently own work streams assigned to the individual and provide expertise to team members when required
    2. Ensure timely, high quality, zero-defect analysis and output 
    3. Respond to onshore team/client questions around data and insights
    4. Receive regular feedback from the Lead/ Manager to improve on the existing skills
    5. Provide and receive regular feedback to team members and conduct training to ensure constant growth and improvement for self and team
  • Develop and enhance standardized data products/ solutions
    1. Develop a good understanding of existing products and look for opportunities to add value, further enhancing these offerings 
    2. Build productized capabilities that can be leveraged by teams across the CoE
    3. Look to pitch new product ideas to the team, ways to enhance existing products/solutions and close loop with feedback calls
