BAIN & COMPANY INDIA PARTNER PRASHANT SARIN NAMED YOUNG GLOBAL LEADER BY WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

New Delhi - March 17, 2015 - Bain & Company, the global business and management consulting firm, announced today that Prashant Sarin, a New Delhi-based partner and leader of the firm's Organization practice in India, has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Sarin is one of the top leaders in business, government, academia and the media from around the world – all under 40 years old – selected this year for their professional accomplishments and their demonstrated commitment to serving society.

This recognition is for his many contributions to companies in helping them create new, differentiated strategies and organizational models, to people development, and not least to society, advocating access to education for all.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGLs) is a community of exceptional young individuals who share a commitment to shaping the global future. The Forum of YGLs works in close cooperation with the World Economic Forum to integrate young leaders into deep interaction with other stakeholders of global society.

Sarin has been recognized by the WEF for his global thought leadership in organization and talent related issues. In particular, his expertise in sectors such as infrastructure, technology, and industrial goods, which are crucial to India's continued growth, has made him a trusted adviser to several of the country's established business leaders.  

Sarin joined Bain in 2006 as the first Consultant on the ground in India, and has been instrumental in building the firm's presence in the country. He is one of Bain's thought leaders on business leadership and has worked across a range of industries in India, North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. He is passionate about helping leading Indian family-owned companies, multi-national corporations and private equity funds define, execute and deliver long-term sustainable growth.

"I am humbled, honored and excited to have been selected as one of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders," said Sarin. "I look forward to working with the World Economic Forum and partnering with my fellow YGLs, to combine our experience and expertise for a greater cause," he said.

As a highly sought-after business expert in India, Sarin has been quoted and published in several leading mainstream and business publications, including The Hindu, The Hindustan Times and The Economic Times.  In 2014, he was named one of India's Top 25 Hottest Young Executives by Business Today.

As part of an ongoing pro bono effort, Prashant supports large corporations and foundations in their educational undertakings. He also volunteers time and thought leadership to the government and industry associations in India, and is dedicated to giving back to those less fortunate. He strongly advocates better education for the underprivileged and actively advises social entrepreneurs on issues such as improving access to quality education.

Sarin graduated with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, where he was an Aditya Birla Scholar.  He was the first Indian MBA student to be selected as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he earned his master's degree in management studies.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Delhi University.

Sarin joins a roster of seven other Bain partners who have been selected as Young Global Leaders in the past, and is the first partner from India to receive such an honour.
