Karen Khalaf is a member of our Private Equity and Sovereign Wealth Fund practices in the Middle East. She has over 10 years of experience across the Middle East & North America, primarily helping Private Equity funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds and other institutional investors realize value across the full investment lifecycle.

She focuses on fund strategy formulation, ESG strategy, new fund set-up, asset allocation, and operating model redesign (including organization, governance, policies & processes). She also has significant experience leading due diligences, sector screens and post-acquisition engagements. Karen is also an active member of our Advanced Manufacturing Services practice, with a particular focus on trade and logistics.

In addition to her client work, Karen is very passionate about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and is the champion for Women@Bain in the Middle East.

Karen holds an M.S. in civil & environmental engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in civil & environmental engineering and B.S. in economics from Carnegie Mellon.

Karen is a mother to two wonderful children, Alexander and Julie.
