Ricardo Correia

Ricardo is a member of our Enterprise Technology and Financial Services practices, specializing in digital assets, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and tokenization.

With over 15 years of experience building and leading high-growth tech startups, Ricardo brings deep expertise in how money systems work, the mechanics of global and domestic financial market infrastructures, and how payments are evolving to meet digital needs.

Before joining Bain in 2024, Ricardo served as Head of CBDCs and Digital Currencies at R3, where he led a global team to design, develop, and launch retail and wholesale CBDCs, stablecoins and deposit tokens. He also co-led R3’s Digital Assets team, exploring capital market use cases and efficiencies across the trading lifecycle. Prior to that, Ricardo led emerging tech strategy for CBA in Australia, served as CEO of two payments startups, and held senior technology advisory roles at Avanade and Accenture.
