Prashant Sarin is a senior partner and member of the firm’s Asia Pacific leadership team. He leads our Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice across Asia Pacific, as well as our Energy & Natural Resources practice in India. Previously, he led our Organization practice in India.
With over 20 years of consulting and technology experience, Prashant has focused on strategic, operational, and organizational initiatives that drive clients’ performance and long-term value. Since joining the firm in 2006, when we first set up the consulting practice in India, he has spent a third of his time at Bain’s Silicon Valley office, advising the leadership teams of several large global technology companies.
Prashant has deep expertise in leading scale transformation programs with large family-managed conglomerates and MNCs in the US, Southeast Asia, and India – across strategy, new business building, performance improvement, and organizational restructuring. He has advised clients across multiple industries, including energy, technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure / real estate. He also brings rich experience working directly with business families, supporting the Chairman and the Next Gen on core leadership topics, including succession planning.
In 2015, Prashant was selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum and as one of India’s ’40 Under 40’ Business Leaders by The Economic Times. In 2014, he was selected as one of India’s Top 25 Young Executives by Business Today. He co-authored the very first Bain & Company India Private Equity and Venture Capital Reports in collaboration with IVCA in 2009 and 2010, which have become the reference for the private equity industry in India.
Prashant was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, earning a master’s in management studies. He was an Aditya Birla Scholar at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, where he received an MBA. He also graduated from Delhi University with a B.Eng. in civil engineering.
