Julian Critchlow is a member of our Energy & Carbon Transition centre and an expert in our Energy and Natural Resources practice.
He has more than 30 years of consulting experience with us, including leading our global Utilities practice for more than a decade. He then moved to the UK government to lead the country's action to drive to net-zero both domestically and internationally.
Julian has worked in the downstream energy sector for more than three decades, partnering with CEOs and the boards of global utilities to win in competitive markets through superior strategic insight, operational and organisational delivery. He also led our firm's work with the World Economic Forum, looking at the energy transition in developed and fast-growth markets. Finally, he has supported some of the largest global post-merger integrations in sectors as diverse as energy, tech and telecom, industrial goods and services, and construction products.
In addition to his client work, Julian is a keen cold-water swimmer. He has swum the English Channel four times and, in 2020, was inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame for his work on the history of English Channel Swimming.
He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and an M.A./M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
