He has worked with numerous private equity and corporate clients in the energy and industrials sectors. In this capacity, his work focuses on conducting due diligence, including assessing market size, growth outlook, and company competitiveness.

James is one of the firm's experts in energy transition-related topics. He has guided businesses and policymakers toward a deeper understanding of the global energy and climate challenge and helped them in shaping forward-thinking solutions to expedite progress.

Prior to joining Bain, James served as a Captain in the United States Army, leading reconnaissance and tank units during multiple overseas deployments.

James earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University. He lives in Houston with his wife and son.
