David Bechhofer is an expert in Bain's Advanced Manufacturing & Services and Strategy practices.
He joined the firm in 1983 and was elected to the partnership in 1989.
David holds deep expertise across a broad range of topics, including core growth strategy, adjacency expansion, strategic planning processes and operational improvement.
In recent years, he has assisted clients with new technology and product introductions, operational restructuring, international growth and strategy training. He has served as a strategy trainer at General Electric’s Crotonville training center and is also a leader in Bain’s work with global industrial companies.
David has served as the managing director of Bain's Atlanta office and served as chairman of the firm's compensation and promotion committee, as well as a member of the management committee.
Additionally, David has coordinated many of Bain’s pro bono efforts, including work with the Boston Public Schools and City Year. Previously, he also directed the firm's worldwide marketing effort.
Prior to joining Bain, he worked with Hewlett Packard Instruments Group and Israel Water Engineers.
He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree, with highest honors, in applied math and operations research from Yale University.
