WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work with foreign office payroll and finance staff, ensure accurate US federal and state wage reporting and tax withholding for international office employees subject to US income tax. Prepare payroll calculations to estimate tax costs for tax protection payments to employees working temporarily on international assignments to and from the US.  Ensure accurate recording of all tax withholding, expense and payments in the accounting system through proper journal entries and timely account reconciliations. Research and propose solutions to complex pay issues. Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulatory requirements.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • You will input international employee payroll data to in-house payroll system for international employees requiring W-2 reporting based on payroll data provided by foreign office payroll staff, utilizing appropriate exchange rates and tax withholding rates.
  • You will prepare and reconcile federal and state payroll tax deposits, quarterly/annual employer tax returns and W-2 forms for international offices.
  • You will ensure compliance with all federal and state income, social security and unemployment tax requirements. 
  • You will research and prepare correspondence responding to inquiries and notices from the IRS and state taxing authorities.
  • You will research, analyze and propose solutions to complex pay issues, including tax protection and gross to net calculations.
  • You will utilize excel based models to calculate estimated US tax rates for inbound and outbound employee transfers. Communicate results to international offices for use in tax withholding and gross up calculations.
  • You will review non-cash fringe benefits provided to international employees, determine US tax treatment, evaluate need for tax gross up based on internal policy and ensure proper reporting and withholding on a quarterly basis. 
  • You will prepare payroll journal entries related to tax deposits to ensure proper accounting and collection of employee withholdings and loans.
  • You will respond to international office employee payroll inquiries regarding US payroll issues, W-2 reporting details and calculations. 
  • You will ensure that proper documentation and records are maintained and transactions are processed in compliance with internal policies and procedures.  
  • You will demonstrate application of depth and breadth of international payroll and tax knowledge a plus
  • You will perform other duties and special projects as assigned or as responsibilities dictate.




ABOUT YOU

Bachelor’s degree in a business related field is required. Relevant international payroll and/or tax experience a plus.


  • Knowledge of US tax rules and regulations, including but not limited to fringe benefit reporting, hypothetical tax calculations and US individual tax rules
  • Knowledge of payroll rules/regulations in an automated processing environment involving multiple entities
  • Proven ability to calculate payroll with accuracy, meeting all related deadlines; significant experience preparing payroll related journal entries
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting systems
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Excellent system and Excel spreadsheet capabilities
  • Workday and MasterTax (ADP) experience preferred

*MUST be willing to come into the office at least one (1) to three (3) days a week for this hybrid role (Tuesdays required)
