POSITION SUMMARY 

Based in our Global Business Services center (GBS) in Kuala Lumpur, we are looking for individual with experience in general accounting, revenue management, preferably in a captive unit of a multi-national firm. To be successful the individual should be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, comfortable working with various internal stakeholders. The right candidate will look to embed themselves into our diverse and experienced finance team, with main functions to - 

  • Assist the Sr. Specialist/ Manager / Sr. Manager to drive: 
    • New projects – Process efficiencies, BDPs etc. 
    • New Process transitions 
    • Focus towards Standardization / Harmonization / Automation 
  • Assist the leadership to implement the Finance Strategies 


KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Accounting: 
    • Accounting of month end journals and other closing activities 
    • Liaising with stakeholders and colleague in other APAC offices
    • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Supporting in monthly P&L reviews and commentaries
    • Various cost/profit center reconciliations with control on minute details
    • Revenue related activities:
    • Invoice creation
    • Invoice booking
    • Collections booking
    • Ageing reports etc.
    • Fixed Assets accounting: Disposals, Capitalization, Documentations, Reconciliation etc.
    • Cost Accounting: Cost reconciliation for various projects aligned with business services agreements.
    • Amortization, Absorption, Accruals, Advance disbursement track etc.
    • Taxation:
      • Strong understanding of taxation rules and adaptability to learn taxation procedures of various offices.
      • Ensuring correct tax accounting as per local office rules and compliances
      • Filing GST returns and monthly submissions (India Specific)
    • Treasury Management:
      • Supporting on the short-term investments
      • Supporting on the cash forecasting process and reporting 
    • Intercompany Accounting 
      • Intercompany AP/AR review and reconciliation 
      • End to End Intercompany settlements or netting. 
  • Reporting:
    • Monthly Reporting to the stakeholders
    • Client Reconciliations update 
    • Cost to Revenue reporting etc.
    • GST/VAT/SST/Withholding tax/TDS etc.
    • KPI’s
    • Dashboards
  • Liaise with Regional and Global teams as appropriate for ad-hoc and other requirements.
  • Team scope management: Remain open and constructive to other process within Accounting and Finance that the team can support with or adopt, based on team skills, resourcing and opportunity to contribute to the wider reginal finance success.
  • Project Management: Ability to support the leadership to drive multiple organization projects.
  • Lead and Support Internal and External Audit


KEY REQURIMENTS

  • Strong Accounting concepts / knowledge
  • Prior working knowledge in ERP (preferably SAP)
  • Excellent MS-Excel Knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure. 
  • Transition and process improvement experience
  • Thorough end-to-end process knowledge in GL (Closing, Reporting, Consolidation, Cash & Banking, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations)
  • Exposure in R2R activities (Record to Report), Tax and Treasury activities
  • Independent handling of queries and client management
  • Strong reporting and presentation abilities 
  • Capability to create and maintain controlled process environments. 


QUALIFICATIONS/ ABOUT YOU 

  • CA / CPA, bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA (Finance) or M. Com, with a minimum of 4-8 years of post-qualification experience 
  • Experience in General Accounting and R2R with thorough knowledge of account principles and statutory compliance (GST, ITax etc.,)
  • Track record of delivering work on-time and zero defect; experience in a multi-geography/currency context preferred
  • Excellent English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin communication skills (Written and verbal)
  • Flexible and adaptable to change with a passion for results 
  • Strong team player, working with the Finance team located at different locations.
