À propos de Josh

Share your journey to Bain.

After leaving university, I joined the British Army. I was excited by having the opportunity to travel and work with a diverse group of people with a variety of skillsets. After leaving the Army, I joined the credit risk team of a major investment bank. This was a great opportunity for me to apply my military skills to the corporate world and learn how companies operate.

I was drawn to management consulting because of the variety of work, the ability to have real-world impact, and to be able to work with intelligent and driven colleagues.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

Bain was my top choice because of the culture and collaborative working approach. Throughout the interview process, I got a sense Bain operates with a team mentality and that they truly care about creating impact for their client. During my time here, I can honestly say that my perceptions were right. We work collaboratively with our clients to solve difficult problems, taking care of ourselves and each other along the way.

Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.

My most enjoyable experience was running a workshop for the senior executives of a chemical company. I was relatively junior and the case had just started, but this exposure built my confidence in how to manage client interactions, communicate complex problems, and align a group towards a solution. Other memorable experiences include global training in Dublin and Tenerife, travelling to client sites all over the globe and (maybe) most importantly - Friday Cheers, where we come together to celebrate the week!

How did your previous experience help you excel at Bain?

My leadership roles in the British Army taught me how to execute complex strategy, deliver projects with multiple stakeholders, manage teams and make quick decisions. At Bain, I have been able to leverage my skills to dissect problems, manage client relationships, and build frameworks to deliver results.

Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?

At Bain, I have not only done impactful client work but have engaged in Extra-10s to support London-based charities - the most memorable being working with a food re-distribution charity to increase donations for food banks. What excites me is the variety of work we do, and having the ability to work across industries and geographies.

“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”

For me, “Build Your Own Bain” means being surrounded everyday by a team who are invested in my professional development. I feel empowered to chart my course, be it either with my case work or through taking one of the flex options, all whilst knowing that I am developing both personally and professionally.
