Andrew Welch is a leader in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources practice, including leading Energy Talent Development in Texas for Bain.
Andrew serves as an advisor to executive teams of leading corporations, private equity funds, and non-profits. His primary focus areas include strategy and operations performance improvement. Within strategy, Andrew has deep expertise supporting clients with key topics such as strategy under uncertainty (energy scenarios), new business building, and portfolio management/capital allocation. Within operations, he holds experience in end-to-end supply chain optimization, manufacturing improvement, complexity reduction, and strategic procurement.
Since joining Bain in 2008, Andrew has served in numerous office leadership roles across people development. He has managed the firm's Texas office associate program, as well as led recruiting efforts for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and Texas A&M University.
Outside of Bain, Andrew is passionate about family, education, and the outdoors. Almost all weekends and evenings are spent at the soccer fields, baseball fields, swim meets, and girl/boy scouts with his wife and three children. Andrew is on the KIPP Houston Board. When there is a free weekend from children’s sports, Andrew can be found fishing the Texas Bay System and enjoying wildlife across the state.
