Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics, leads the team delivering data engineering, reporting and insights within Bain’s marketing function to meet the evolving needs of the business. The Senior Manager is the product owner for Marketing Analytics at Bain, supporting the development of the vision and owning the roadmap for how we translate data into actionable analytics, reports, and insights to continually improve marketing performance. The Senior Manager will bring thought leadership to strategic priorities and operational challenges and partner with leaders across Marketing, Technology, and other teams to execute and achieve our goals.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Analytics Leadership and Insights Generation (40%)
- Own the development and management of the Marketing Analytics roadmap to generate actionable insights and create value for strategic marketing initiatives.
- Identify high-impact marketing data use cases (e.g., campaign performance reporting and marketing ROI assessments) and oversee the development of analytics, models, and data visualizations to support business growth.
- Translate complex data into compelling insights and recommendations for senior marketing leaders.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement (20%)
- Partner with global marketing leaders, technology, and other key stakeholders to align on business priorities to inform the development of analytical tools and insights.
- Act as an advisor, providing guidance on best practices for leveraging analytics to drive strategic marketing decisions.
- Proactively gather input to refine analytics capabilities and ensure the resulting tools are impactful.
Data Strategy and Infrastructure Development (20%)
- Collaborate with global analytics counterparts and technology teams to influence data architecture decisions and ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Build relationships with stakeholders involved in marketing-related data projects.
- Lead the building of a cohesive and well-maintained data infrastructure to support marketing analytics initiatives globally.
Team Management and Talent Development (20%)
- Directly manage Senior Analysts and Analysts, overseeing the design and execution of marketing analytics projects and ad hoc requests.
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities to grow team members' skills and responsibilities.
- Lead onboarding and training efforts to strengthen team capabilities, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a marketing analytics or data management role; experience in the consulting industry is a plus.
- Experience in team management and growth essential.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are important as are data visualization skills.
- Experience working with marketing data, including tools by Google, Adobe, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into analytic frameworks, including recommending suitable KPIs and translating data into recommended actions.
- Strong change management and influence skills; ability to negotiate and communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Strong experience of working with structured and unstructured data.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience in relational databases/data warehouses required.
- Expertise with analytical software such as Python, R, Alteryx or SAS to extract, transform, and analyze data is essential.
- Experience building dashboards, business intelligence tools, and visualization solutions (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) required.
- Experience leading and working in an Agile team essential.
- Experience with Git and modern software development workflow preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously; strong organization skills and follow-through.
- Self-starter, able to work independently with limited direction.
- Ability to effectively team globally, including flexibility in adjusting priorities and work hours/availability to meet team demands.
