Tamara Lewis, a partner in our Seattle office, joined Bain after graduating summa cum laude from Princeton and hasn't looked back. She spent 10 years in our Boston office before becoming a founding member of the firm's Seattle office in 2018.
The decision to establish the Seattle office was made for a few reasons. Bain saw great potential for growth due to the market opportunities and pre-existing clients in the area, and because our people, and the people who wanted to be our people, wanted to be in Seattle.
Tamara chose to move to Seattle because she had a clear mission of what excited her and felt that she could be useful in making Bain successful in this market. As both a client-facing partner and the Talent VP to set up the office's people machine, Tamara has been a powerhouse and an invaluable member of the Seattle office.
As part of our Whiteboard Innovators series that spotlights leaders with innovation at the forefront of their careers, Tamara discusses innovation in Seattle during the early days of the firm's presence in the city, how Bain approaches entering new markets, and what it’s like being an intrapreneur and building a Bain office from the ground up.
