Share your journey to Bain.

I started my journey to Bain in 2020 through the BASE program. I was a BASE scholar and summer associate in the Houston office before starting full time in the Chicago office. I am grateful for programs like BASE that exposed me early on to Bain culture, consulting at the firm, and illustrated their mission to drive diversity at the firm. To this day, I have very close friends from BASE that have journeyed through Bain and beyond with me.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

Bain has been a place where I could build a long term career, rather than just checking the box of doing a couple years of work before going elsewhere. The focus on professional development, diversity of case experiences, and creating inclusive team environments have been key differentiators for me as I think about an ideal place to work. I am grateful for the mentorship, friendships, and challenges that I have experienced while at Bain that have helped me to thrive as I grow in my career.

Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.

My favorite case so far has been a social impact case focused on racial equity and social justice. I enjoyed working not just with my case team but also alongside our passionate clients while learning about Chicago, historical disinvestment in certain neighborhoods on the south and west sides of the city, and the impactful work from community organizations to change the narrative by bringing intentional investment to these communities. This case was the most valuable to me as I was grateful to be involved in work that would directly impact Black and brown communities in the city I love.

Are you an alumnus of any Bain partnerships? If so, how were you involved?

While in business school I was a member of the Consortium and a Forte fellow and have been proud to remain involved with these groups even at Bain. I have enjoyed going to OP to connect with prospective Bainies to give back and share how the support from Consortium and Forte networks helped with my path to Bain.

What advice would you offer students headed into MBA programs that are interested in recruiting for consulting?

As a student interested in Bain, I recommend you start early and be intentional about your exploration of learning about offices and how the culture differs to find your best fit. My favorite part about Bain is the home office model which has allowed be to build strong connections with my colleagues within my respective office. It is important to meet people from that office, learn about their case work and office experiences, and see if it could be a great fit for you!
