About Yousif

Share your journey to Bain.

Before joining Bain, I had been working for 6 years in a dual engineering and project management role in an engineering consulting capacity across multiple sectors (energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and others). During my master's degree studies, I wanted to be involved in these sectors from a strategy and advisory point of view to contribute and support clients in achieving their strategic aspirations.

As I got to know more about Bain's work within the GCC region, I realized that I would like to explore consulting at Bain, which led me to apply through the Advanced Degree (AD) recruitment program to join Bain's Riyadh team.

Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?

Yes. Our Bain Middle East team handles a wide range of cases across different topics that ultimately serve the national aspirations of countries within the GCC, such as Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's (KSA) Vision 2030.

Being able to provide a contribution through our work to these national aspirations is a tremendous privilege and responsibility that I hope we are able to continuously live up to.

“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”

Before joining Bain, I had an initial point of view on specific industries I wanted to explore such as manufacturing and energy. With this in mind, I've been able to steer my casework so far to focus on these industries that I feel the most passionate about while still keeping the door open to other industries, that I might want to explore in the future.

Describe your experience living and working in Riyadh.

It's been great to live in Riyadh! The city keeps growing at an incredible pace and there are always cultural and sport activities happening throughout the year. Plus, the food scene here is amazing - one of the best in the world, in my opinion (Pro-tip: this means exercise and training are a must!)

Additionally, my colleagues in Riyadh were very welcoming even before I joined the Riyadh office. Our KSA office head gave me great advice after my interviews that was very useful to me on my first case one year later. After I joined Bain, our Riyadh team and many other colleagues supported me in my transition and onboarding and made it very seamless.

Did you have any ties to the region before joining Bain Riyadh? Why did you choose this office?

Yes. I had been to Riyadh many times before joining Bain, so I was somewhat familiar with the city. I chose this office for several reasons; two key ones are:

1. There is a lot of exciting and inspiring work that Bain does in KSA across multiple sectors (particularly infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, and other sectors). This gives me a great opportunity to learn in KSA's rapidly developing environment where I also hope to contribute to achieving these efforts to the best of my ability.

2. Riyadh is relatively close to my home country, Bahrain, which makes it easier to maintain ties with family and friends at home.
