Last year, the annual average tuition for domestic graduate schools stood at 8.27 million won (according to Higher Education in Korea). If we assume that it takes seven years on average to earn a doctoral degree, the total cost amounts to 57.89 million won—or even higher for those obtaining a doctorate abroad.
