In a survey conducted by British American Business and Bain & Company 68 large US companies rated their confidence in the UK as a place to do business at 7.8 on a 10-point scale. The companies assessed everything from innovation to free trade, and gave top marks to the UK’s regulatory reputation, openness when attracting talent, and strong academic and research records. Despite challenges in the UK-EU relationship, which is disrupting supply chain logistics and access to labour, US companies expect to increase investments in the UK over the next two to three years.

As the UK defines its future as an independent trading nation, business confidence among US investors in the UK is high, even as they look cautiously at the ongoing challenges of the UK-EU relationship.
