Biografie Torsten

Torsten Lichtenau is a senior partner. He leads our Carbon Transition practice globally and is a core member of the leadership team in our Sustainability practice.

Torsten supports clients across industries and geographies in decarbonizing their businesses and embracing the value creation opportunity from the carbon and energy transition. His areas of focus are heavy-emitting sectors in energy and industrials. His work covers carbon and energy transition strategies, decarbonization of operations and supply chain, commercial excellence from low-carbon products, and operating model alignment to low-carbon ambition.

Torsten has more than 20 years of consulting experience across a wide range of industries. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated extensive experience in leading large-scale transformations with a track record of delivering decisive and sustainable results for his clients.

Since joining Bain in 2004, Torsten has applied his management consulting skills globally. He has been based in the firm's London, Dusseldorf, and Johannesburg offices. He has advised leading companies in the United Kingdom, Western Europe, the United States, and Africa.

Torsten is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader from the class of 2016. He holds an MBA (Diplom-Kaufmann degree) from the University of the Saarland and a PhD in Business Administration from WHU Koblenz. He has also deepened his leadership and sustainability skills through executive courses at Harvard, Oxford and Stanford.
