POSITION SUMMARY 

The position requires an individual who can be an effective expert in a position with experience in general accounting, revenue management, preferably in a captive unit of a multi-national firm. The person will be outgoing, and comfortable in a truly multinational environment, working with different cultures, styles and all levels of staff.


  • Assist the Sr. Specialist/ Manager / Sr. Manager to drive: 
  1. New projects – Process efficiencies, BDPs etc. 
  2. New Process transitions 
  3. Focus towards Standardization / Harmonization / Automation 
  4. Assist the leadership to implement the Finance Strategies 

 KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Accounting: 
  1. Accounting of month end journals and other closing activities 
  2. Liaising with stakeholders and colleague in other APAC offices
  3. Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  4. Supporting in monthly P&L reviews and commentaries
  5. Various cost/profit center reconciliations with control on minute details
  6. Revenue related activities:
    • Invoice creation
    • Invoice booking
    • Collections booking
    • Ageing reports etc.
  7. Fixed Assets accounting: Disposals, Capitalization, Documentations, Reconciliation etc.
  8. Cost Accounting: Cost reconciliation for various projects aligned with business services agreements.
  9. Amortization, Absorption, Accruals, Advance disbursement track etc.
  10. Taxation:
    • Strong understanding of taxation rules and adaptability to learn taxation procedures of various offices.
    • Ensuring correct tax accounting as per local office rules and compliances
    • Filing GST returns and monthly submissions (India Specific)
  11. Treasury Management:
    • Supporting on the short-term investments
    • Supporting on the cash forecasting process and reporting 
  12. Intercompany Accounting 
    • Intercompany AP/AR review and reconciliation 
    • End to End Intercompany settlements or netting. 
  • Reporting:
    1. Monthly Reporting to the stakeholders
    2. Client Reconciliations update 
    3. Cost to Revenue reporting etc.
    4. GST/VAT/SST/Withholding tax/TDS etc.
    5. KPI’s
    6. Dashboards

 

  • Liaise with Regional and Global teams as appropriate for ad-hoc and other requirements.
  • Team scope management: Remain open and constructive to other process within Accounting and Finance that the team can support with or adopt, based on team skills, resourcing and opportunity to contribute to the wider reginal finance success.
  • Project Management: Ability to support the leadership to drive multiple organization projects.
  • Lead and Support Internal and External Audit

KEY REQURIMENTS

  • Strong Accounting concepts / knowledge
  • Prior working knowledge in ERP (preferably SAP)
  • Excellent MS-Excel Knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure. 
  • Transition experience
  • Thorough end-to-end process knowledge in GL (Closing, Reporting, Consolidation, Cash & Banking, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations)
  • Exposure in R2R activities. (Record to Report)
  • Exposure to Tax & Treasury Activities
  • Should independently handle all type of queries from People/Client/Management
  • Good presentation skills
  • Eager to take up new initiatives and process improvements.
  • Should independently prepare reports/dashboards and analyze the contents.
  • Good people management and presentation skills
  • Ability to create strong controlled process environment and adherence to controls and compliances.
  • Maintain DTPs and versions.
  • Willingness to work in shift timings.
  • Excellent Client Management Abilities

QUALIFICATIONS/CAPABILITIES 

  • Essential 
  1. CA, MBA (Finance) or M.Com
  2. Minimum 8+ years relevant experience
  3. Experience in General Accounting and R2R
  4. 100% commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines 
  5. Advanced Excel skills 
  6. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance (GST, ITax etc.)
  7. Proficient Microsoft office skills 
  8. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal 
  9. Experience in SAP
  • Desired but not essential 
  1. Experience or exposure to international markets (Especially APAC)
  2. Process Transition Experience
  3. Experience in a Captive Unit or Business consulting firm
