Description & Requirements

Bain & Company is recognized as one of the top international management consultancy firms. We assist major corporations worldwide with strategy formulation, acquisitions, organizational design and performance improvement. In 2015, Bain & Company opened the Global Business Services (GBS) Center in Warsaw, in order to provide the best-in-class internal support, efficiently and professionally, to both leadership and consulting teams in Bain offices across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

DEPARTMENT and ROLE OVERVIEW:

Bain’s Global Risk Management function is growing rapidly to adequately manage existing and new risks the firm is facing.

Bain has recently built up a third-party risk management team to manage the increasing number of third parties Bain teams engage with (e.g., alliance partners, external client advisers). Furthermore, we are currently building up a team managing the additional risks associated to larger software transformation projects and new technology (e.g., Artificial Intelligence).

The Framework and Enablement team, part of Global Risk Management, is supporting across these different teams by establishing the necessary workflows, writing out policies and helping the teams get more effective by e.g., building out dashboards or developing reporting formats.

Based in Bain GBS center in Warsaw, the Business Analyst in the Framework and Enablement team, will work directly with the different risk teams and other stakeholders to ensure the scaling and operations of these teams run optimally, while following our broader risk guidelines.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:

You will report directly into a Manager of Global Risk Management. You will be part of a small team responsible for a broad set of topics, which we approach in an agile sprint model. All sprints have in common that they enable specific risk teams to better do their day-to-day jobs by providing e.g., new policies, workflows, or management tools/ templates.

As part of the Warsaw Risk Hub, you will be part of the local Risk community, and you will be fully embedded into the Global Risk Function of Bain & Company.

In your work, you will collaborate closely with different risk teams, and also the wider ecosystem of Bain teams, such as the IT, Legal and Information Security teams who will support Risk activities, amongst other teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support development of processes, frameworks, reporting-methodologies (e.g., dashboards, scorecards) to enable and monitor Bain’s risk management approach in particular in the fields Third Party Risk Management, Software Delivery Risk Management and Business Transformation Risk Management
  • Interact with overall risk management and other support functions (e.g., Legal, InfoSec, HR, Security, TSG etc.) to ensure comprehensive execution of risk-related activities such as risk assessments, and tracking identified mitigations
  • Monitor quantitative and qualitative KPIs of the firm’s risk appetite and exposure across the different risk portfolios, and escalate specific situations / events when early warnings are triggered
  • Support (and partly own) periodic reporting processes by reporting key findings from KPI tracking regularly to Program Managers and senior leadership to support control of Bain’s risk appetite and exposure
  • Support QA activities of associated manager and regularly work with senior TPRM colleagues to deploy new initiatives (e.g., how to improve Bain’s risk function through Artificial Intelligence)
