Undergraduate, master’s or advanced degree

A well-designed system of training will help you build the necessary skills, and our culture guarantees you support of your colleagues—this means both your mentor and each person you will have a chance to work with.

Your motivation, acumen, ability to process information and learn actively matter a lot. However, that is not enough: you should also have strong analytical skills and demonstrate great performance in different areas (learn more about our requirements here). You will also have to pass a multi-tier selection process during which you will have to demonstrate your best skills and capabilities and prove that you suit us perfectly.

We offer two internship options:

  • Associate consultant intern (ACI) is designed only for students: 3rd year Bachelors and 1st year Masters and lasts 3 months.
  • Associate consultant in training (ACiT) is designed for final year students and graduates who left university less than two years ago. This internship lasts six months. If you complete it successfully, you will receive a job offer for permanent Associate Consultant (AC) position.

Education and work experience

  • For the ACI position, we consider third year Bachelors and 1st year Masters students. No work experience required.
  • For the ACiT position, we consider final year students and working professionals who graduated less than two years ago. Limited work experience is required for recent graduates.

  • Fluent in Russian and English
  • A robust analytical skill set, an endless curiosity and a penchant for thinking the impossible
  • A solid team player who’s also an independent thinker
  • Deadline-driven, organized and able to multitask
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Irresistible desire to work in strategic consulting
Assessment Process

The assessment process for AСI and ACiT positions consists of several stages after you apply online. Please visit our Bain.com/careers website for interview preparation tips and expectations.

  • CV and cover letter screening. Responses will be sent within one week after the deadline for applying (irrespective of the decision). We recommend you to study our advises on preparing CV and cover letter.
  • Written case. This is the first live assessment stage conducted at one of our Bain offices. More detailed information about the written case could be found here, and case examples are available here.
  • First round case interviews. Candidates who pass the written case will move onto this stage. You will meet with two consultants in turn with each meeting lasting 60 minutes: 10 of them are spent to meet the interviewer and to tell the interviewer about yourself and your previous experience; 45 minutes are spent to describe the business task and resolve it verbally (you may take notes on paper and take time to think); you may use the remaining 5 minutes at the end to ask questions. Case interview example could be found here.
  • Second round case interviews. Applicants who move on to the second round of case interviews will meet with Bain case team leaders and managers. Format will be identical to the previous round.
  • Third round interviews. ACiT applicants will have a third round of interviews with Bain partners. Format will be identical to the previous two rounds.

Should you pass successfully the second round of interviews, or the third round for ACiT applicants only, you will receive an offer for internship. The nearest possible start date will be specified in the offer as well.

To apply for a position at Bain please prepare your CV, write a cover letter and upload them using the online application.

  • April 2019 — please submit your application by 13th January 2019 (for ACiT, AC and SAC)
  • June 2019 — please submit your application by 10 March 2019 (for ACI only)
