Dynamic culture
Despite our rapid growth, we pride ourselves on having maintained a smaller-office feel, and as a result, we have achieved the highest level of employee satisfaction. At Bain Chicago, you will find a network of incredibly smart yet down-to-earth people, who really enjoy working together and are invested in one another’s success. We take the team experience very seriously, whether it’s at the individual project level or the office as a whole. On our project teams, for example, we regularly survey team members about the project experience and immediately incorporate this feedback into the day-to-day operations of the team. At the office level, we have a wide array of "Extra 10%" opportunities and events that allow you to get to know colleagues outside of your case teams. Recent Extra 10% events include our summer off-site, holiday parties, casino night, charity auctions and Community Impact Day.

Track record of driving results
We have a track record of not only driving real results for our clients, but also working collaboratively with them to accomplish this. Our work spans capabilities in the wide array of industries represented in the Midwest, including, but not limited to, consumer products, retail, healthcare, technology, telecom, industrials, financial services and private equity.

Bain Chicago also plays an influential role in the direction of the overall firm. Many of Bain’s leaders have called the Chicago office "home," including members of the board, chairs of the operating committee and leaders of practice and capability areas.

Committed to our community
Bain Chicago is committed to supporting our community through service and pro bono work. We are extremely proud of the long-term commitment we have made to the Rowe Elementary School, a K-5 charter school focused on serving low-income and minority students from the West Town community and across Chicago. In 2008, we joined forces with the Northwestern Settlement House and dedicated a pro bono case team to create the school’s business plan. A second case team supported the school’s start-up execution through spring 2009, and most recently, in 2012, we committed a team to develop its middle school strategy and five-year plan. The Rowe Elementary School opened its doors to 147 K-2 students on September 8, 2009, and in the fall of 2012, the school will add grades 3-5. Bain Chicago continues to support the school’s principal and leadership teams in other ways: serving on the board, volunteering in the classrooms and providing other strategic support.

Bain Chicago is also involved in our community in many other ways:

  • We have a steady stream of pro bono work focused on public and nonprofit clients
  • We are one of the leading corporate supporters of Junior Achievement, with more than 50 Bainies volunteering to teach classes at local elementary schools each year
  • We organize an annual Community Impact Day, when our entire office takes the day to support local nonprofits
  • As an "Extra 10%," our associate consultants (ACs) lead consulting engagements with Inspire at local educational or youth-oriented nonprofits
