My name is Clayton, I'm a Manager in the New York office. I first joined Bain in 2013 as a Summer Associate (SA). I first decided to pursue a career in consulting after business school because I was excited by the dynamism and energy I experienced in the classroom whenever we worked on a case environment.

I think my most exciting case to date was a consumer products integration, where two of the largest consumer products companies within the same category wanted to merge. We engaged with them at a very early period of time, and focused on their operating model first, showing them what a merger could unlock from a revenue and costs perspective. Over the past year or so, we've continued to work with them in designing the new organization, their talent process, and figuring out their new route to marketing and customer strategies. Right now we're deep in the trenches, working with individual line managers around the world to bring this integration to life.

As I think about the impact of the work that I have made, I realized that I have really made an impact on people's careers - not just a company's stock prices. It's great to sit across the table a client for three or four months and to see them realize professional success, knowing that you had some part to play in that.

When you're coming into Bain for interviews, you should just be yourself. We are a collection of people with different interests, and we want to see you as an individual who adds to the diversity we have here on a daily basis.
