BAIN & COMPANY RANKED AS CONSULTING INDUSTRY'S BEST PLACE TO WORK FOR 7TH YEAR IN A ROW

Global Business Consulting Firm Ranked #1 in Annual Industry Survey of More than 200 Firms Worldwide; Also Takes Top Spot in Leadership, Career Development and
Work/Life Balance

New York, August 31, 2009 - Bain & Company has once again been recognized as the 'Best Firm to Work For' in the annual survey conducted by the editors of Consulting magazine. The widely followed anonymous survey of employee attitudes included more than 200 leading consulting firms from around the globe this year and is the seventh consecutive year in which Bain has come out on top in the industry. In addition to its #1 ranking overall, Bain also ranked first in key dimensions of the survey, including leadership, career development and work/life balance.

"What has always made Consulting magazine's recognition so meaningful is that it is based on a survey of how our people view Bain and their role within our firm," said Steve Ellis, Bain's Worldwide Managing Director. "Our business model hinges on recruiting and retaining exceptional business talent. Earning the top spot in Consulting magazine's 'Best Firm to Work For' survey for the seventh year in a row is one sign that we're getting the formula right."

Bain has maintained its commitment to being the best career choice for great business talent and fostering an exceptional working environment for its global team over the course of the economic recession. The firm has continued to invest in its people programs, including its 25 formal global training programs, its six-month international transfer programs and its bi-annual Global Women's Summit (held in April of this year). The global business consulting firm has also 'doubled down' on investments in its high performance culture, including events like the Bain World Cup (its global soccer/football match), local office summer meetings, the annual Diversity Pre-M.B.A. program and pro bono efforts around education and in 'community impact' days-where Bain consultants from across its 41 offices team with local organizations to help improve the communities in which Bain operates.

"Our culture continues to make Bain a special place to work," added Steve Ellis. "It is the source of the passion that Bain consultants have for our firm, the work we do and the results we deliver for our clients worldwide."
