About Orit

Orit Gadiesh is the Chairman of Bain & Company. She is widely acknowledged as an expert on management and corporate strategy.

Ms. Gadiesh has advised top-level management in structuring and managing portfolios, developing and implementing global strategy, Digital strategy, executing turnarounds, improving organizational effectiveness, determining marketing channel and supply chain strategies, designing performance improvement and growth programs, M&A and post merger integration. She has worked across a wide array of industries, including Consumer ProductsRetail, Automotive, Steel, Industrial Products,  Computers, High Tech, Telecommunications, Electronics, and Healthcare. She currently splits her time between active client and advisory work, in North America, Europe and Asia.

A respected thought leader, she is frequently invited to share her insights and views at high-level executive conferences around the globe. Her work has appeared in business publications including The Wall Street JournalHarvard Business Review,  Forbes and many other major media outlets, globally. She is also the co-author of the book Lessons from Private Equity Any Company Can Use.

Prior to joining Bain & Company, Orit served in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army. She holds degrees from Hebrew University, Jerusalem (BA, summa cum laude), and Harvard Business School (MBA, with highest honors; Baker Scholar, presented with the Brown Award).

Ms. Gadiesh volunteers her experience as a pragmatic strategist to business, civic, and academic communities.  She is a member of the Board of Trustees and of the Community of Chairpersons of the World Economic Forum. In addition to being a member of the MIT Corporation,  she is also a member of the Executive Committee. She is a member of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai (IBLAC), which she chaired for 3 years. She is also a member of: the Council on Foreign Relations; the International Advisory Council of the James Martin 21st Century School of the University of Oxford; the Advisory Council of the Peres Institute for Peace and Innovation. In addition, Orit serves as Governor of Tel Aviv University.

She is a member of the Board of Directors, Schindler AG. Previously, she was a member of the Board of Directors, WPP (2004-2014) and of the Supervisory Board, Royal Dutch Philips (2014-2021).
