Julie Coffman is a partner in Bain & Company's Chicago office. She is a leader in the global Healthcare and Organization practices.
Julie has more than 25 years of management consulting experience, working with senior executives and management teams to address their most pressing strategic issues.
Within the healthcare industry, Julie has extensive experience advising providers, payers and medical device companies. She holds deep expertise in healthcare reform, provider population health management, the role of the center, clinical outsourcing, G&A optimization and performance improvement. She has also helped major healthcare institutions drive better patient and customer experiences.
Her organization work focuses primarily in decision effectiveness and creating alignment in organizational structure, processes, roles and accountabilities.
Julie also chairs Bain’s Global Women’s Leadership Council, which aims to increase the number of women in Bain’s leadership ranks. She is the co-author of several whitepapers on this topic and was recognized as one of the 2011 Women Leaders in Consulting by Consulting Magazine.
Outside of her work with Bain, Julie is on the board of the Northwestern University Settlement House and also chairs the board of the Rowe Elementary School, a charter school in Chicago. She serves on the Local School Council for the Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School and is also a member of the Chicago Network of Women Business leaders.
Julie earned her BA from Wesleyan University in Mathematics and Economics with highest honors and her MBA at Stanford University, where she was recognized as an Arjay Miller scholar. Julie also earned her MA in Educational Administration.
