Gerard du Toit is a partner in Bain & Company’s Boston office. He leads the Banking sector of Bain's Financial Services practice in the Americas. He is also a member of the firm's Customer Strategy & Marketing practice.
He has deep expertise in banking, payments and wealth management, where he has worked with industry leaders around the globe. He is also responsible for Loyalty and Reward Program capabilities globally and is a lead author of Bain's annual Customer Loyalty in Retail Banking report.
Gerard brings the tools of Bain’s Customer Strategy & Marketing practice to bear in financial services. He has delivered results for clients in all aspects of the discipline: segmentation, value proposition development, customer acquisition tactics, customer experience management, loyalty, cross-sell & retention programs. He also has deep expertise in rewards programs and direct marketing.
Gerard is the Chairman of Bain's Worldwide Compensation & Promotion Committee and member of Bain's Board of Directors. He spent two years helping to launch Bain’s office in South Africa, returning to Boston in 1997.
Prior to joining Bain in 1990, Gerard was involved in the successful start-up of a credit union, serving on the board and as the COO and then CFO.
He earned his BS in economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, and received an MBA with honors from the Harvard Business School.
